2014 Angelica, Amador County
Our 2014 Angelica is made from the Mission grape. The grape has a meaningful history in California dating back to the Franciscan monks who made a very sweet, high alcohol wine for sacramental purposes. Our Angelica is made in the port-style, fortified with brandy. Now after aging in barrel for more than 4 years, the last of our Angelica is spectacular, resulting in an almost Cognac like sensation. The flavors and aromas have rich fruit of apricot, dates and raisins, complimented by a slight nuttiness.
As the wine opens up you experience layers of brown sugar and maple syrup, coated hazelnuts. On the mouth, the wine is sweet, warm and silky, with a seductive finish. Enjoy it by itself or with your favorite desert or cheese. Our Angelica will age well for many years to come.
This is the very end of our special Dessert Wine.
